Boris,
Please, make a comparison either the market prices, costs of real estate insurance from several states of the USA in relation Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo states. In Brazil there is not earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes, volcanos, big floods, frosts and seaquakes. What are the positive and negative points either to live in the USA and to live in Brazil in your point of view? And about the retirement? There are many American senior citizens, who are living in Mexico, Costa Rica, and other Central America countries due the low cost of life, where they can pay a maid or a domestic servant or more than one depending of the case and the financial situation. What are the advantages of an American citizen to live in Brazil? And about the social security pensions? It is possible a Senior Citizen to receive in Brazil through of an American bank branch or not? Italian senior citizens, who live in Brazil receive through of the Italian Social Security their pensions in their bank accounts in Brazil where they live. There is an agreement either the Brazilian Federal Government and the Italian Federal Government. There is some type of agreement either the Brazilian Federal Government and the American Federal Government about the Social Security Pensions to be paid overseas to Senior Citizens, who are living in other country or not? There is some intention to be put in the future ALCA agreement about the Senior Citizens living in other countries and receiveing their pensions through Federal Governments or not?

Finally, I get to write a response. While, I am going to downplay analysis of the home owner insurance differences between US States and States of Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro, for the simple lack of knowledge and experience with them (fortunately, I never owned a home in US), and all my attempts to find more information about this type of insurance met with blank stare and puzzled facial expressions in a few insurance offices I managed to visit in Rio. I
am going to continue on this quest and eventually would come up with something.
Now, about positive and negative points of living in US and Brazil. I think that US has all advantages of a first world country, but lacks in quality of products (natural vs. synthetic) and choices. I
can probably write a treatise about cultural and behavioral differences, but it would take along time and would take away the joy of discovery on behalf of many our members. Let me just say that Brazil harbors a lot more pleasant surprises when it comes to
day to day interactions with people then the United State.
Brazil, besides being one of the most beautiful and fertile lands on the face of this planet also carries within itself a sense of exotic and nearly mystical experience, while USA had worn off its appeal a
long time ago. Don't get me wrong, I love the States, but more for what they stand for vs. Brazil for what it is.
From the practical standpoint, Brazil offers high quality lifestyle choices for a very reasonable cost. Unlike Mexico, Costa Rica and other former Central America retirement destination, Brazil has culture that is closer to European and some what American style.
I think that Brazil can significantly benefit if it manages to attract retirees from the United States, Canada, and Europe. They would bring with them much needed capital and jobs, while in return they would receive sense of fulfillment and self-worth which older people are often denied (implicitly and explicitly) in their own countries.
Some of the other many practical advantages are:
Quality low-cost medical and dental services
I think it is not necessary to have pension funds transferred to a bank account in Brazil, unless it is required under the retirement visa conditions. US retirees can draw on their funds located in the
US bank accounts.
I will take a look into the technical details of retiring in countries other then US on US pension. Any help here would be appreciated...

Thanks Boris to answer my questions. Bellow some more excerpts to be analysed:

There is an interesting point to be discussed: Public Transportation ( Buses and Trains ). In Brazil, you can travel for any place of the city, suburbs, states and until other countries through of several buses lines and having available many timetables available to you to take a bus. I think that the Brazilian Public Transportation in terms of buses is very well developed in Brazil (at least in the States of the São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro). About the trains, unfortunately the lines are a scrap due the abandonment during decades by the Federal government and States governments. The politics used during decades in Brazil was directed to the roads and left the railways abandonned. In the State of the São Paulo, you will find excellent roads, highways with excellent pavement and inclusive rescue services, etc. These highways are today maintained for private concessions of which earn money through of the tolls and of which are generally very expensive if you compare with others tolls charged in other countries. However, at least you are using a good highway with a good security and with a good pavement to travel safely. In the State of the São Paulo you also will find excellent restaurants at side of the highways and having a good service in terms of fast food, drinks, and good restrooms available too.
About the rental cars, I think that in Brazil is still very expensive if you compare with the rental cars in the USA and mainly in Florida.

In the State of the Rio de Janeiro, there is a nice place to be known: Parque do Itatiaia, where the people can see a part of the Mata Atlântica preserved and nice creeks. This place is located near Rezende, RJ. ...I think that Brazil can significantly benefit if it manages to

I agree with you. Others countries already have managed this part many years ago, but Brazil continue later in this part.

Yes, I agree. But, it is necessary a good policy to create this beneficity.
...Some of the other many practical advantages are:
Quality low-cost medical and dental services...
and to buy medicine in the pharmacies, drugstores with low-cost.

Well, I think that these points are interesting to be analysed and to make a comparation in terms of positive and negative points either the countries about the cost of life, quality of life, etc.
