Hi, end of next year I'm planning on applying for the Brazilian Permanent Visa program for retirees (50+ years of age, US$2,000/month transferred to my Brazilian bank account). I'm told by friends in Brazil that I may, after four years of residency in Brazil, apply for full Brazilian citizenship. Is this correct? Thanks, John

I am not sure if the naturalization provision applies to the retirees in Brazil, but generally foreigners that legally reside in Brazil for a number of years are eligible to apply for naturalization.
