i read a little about investments with the banks in brazil...such as: CD'S (certificate of deposit) here in the states ....i get around 3.8-4.2% on my returns....my savings acct is about 5.2 %....i read that savings acct in brazil is less than 1 percent....how about the CD's? what would i receive in return for CD's?? any other investments (other than stocks) that could return a rate over 5 %?

so could one possibly keep their money (and invest it in cd's etc) in a US account (for apprx 3 months)gain some increase and then transfer the gain into the brazil account (use for income)?
basically what im saying is.....by the time i retire i could accumulate a minumum 20,000 USD a year off (cd's etc) so i would want to use cd's as a source of income...
