I am an American Citizen married to a Brazilian Citizen. We got married a few months ago, and started my immigration process here in Goiania. The "suprise visit" to our home should be this month, and I am wondering what this "visit" entails. Is it just a look at our home to see if we are actually married, do they interview us and question us? Can anyone let me know? Thanks!

Hello Altgyn,

It is hard to say how exactly the visit would go or what is going to be looked at as the evidence. The agents might just interview the neighboors or they can do in depth study of your alleged (to them) life together that would include looking at the living arrangnments, financial arrangnments, social situation, as well as interveiwing two of you interviewing you separetly.

Here in Sao Paulo, PF agents usually first ask the neighbors about the couple and then go to the house. They usually inspect the house looking for commom objects, such as commom picture frames, and they usually ask personal questions that only by living together you can answer. I heard from a few clients that in some instances they may ask very personal questions.

Best of luck!!!
