Details:
Diploma qualified teacher required to plan and administer the Young Learners programme in the British Council teaching centre, Dubai. You will support the teaching staff and develop the programme to its fullest potential in co-ordination with centres in other cities in the UAE.
The programme is currently quite small - approximately 100 students on a weekend morning - but ready to expand. The co-ordinator's role is multifaceted and offers opportunities to develop in a range of key areas.
Preferred qualifications: Degree-holder, DELTA, Trinity Licentiate Diploma, LTCL Diploma or equivalent
Native English speaker/s only
Teaching experience: 4 years minimum
Qualifications:
Native speaker of English.
Education to first degree or equivalent.
DELTA or other recognised TEFL Diploma.
Minimum of two years full time TEFL experience after gaining Diploma.
An ELT qualification in teaching children, or substantial documented hours YL teaching experience.

An HIV test, which must be negative, is needed to obtain the appropriate visa in the UAE.
Compensation:
Salary is paid in UAE Dirhams (AED) on a 10 point scale depending on qualifications and experience. The pay range is from 8650 to 10810 per month. (March 2005: 1 GBP = 7.05 AED)
Airfares provided for post-holder and accompanying family, with generous allowances for baggage and settling-in.
All British Council staff are covered for medical insurance.
35 days annual leave per year, plus 16 public holidays.
An accomodation allowance (currently AED 45000) is paid annually. On first arrival the teaching centre will pay for two weeks hotel accomodation.
