Humanities: Fatih University announces the following positions for the academic year 2005-6:

1. Instructors of EFL/TESOL with a preferably MA degree.
2. Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor positions in the Department of American Studies (American Culture and Literature); and in the Department of English Language and Literature. Candidates must have an earned Ph.D for this position.

Fatih University is a teaching institution essentially, and promotion is based on contributions to the academic community achieved through teaching excellence, administrative assignments and professional development. Funds are often available to individual faculty to support professional development and curricular projects, as well as publications.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in the areas of Comparative literature, English Literature, American Studies, American History, Cultural Studies, Composition and Rhetorics, and Cinema and Creative Writing; broad range, commitment to the study of teaching of literature across national and inter-disciplinary boundaries; interest in criticism, theory, and cultural history.

Rank and salary are contingent upon qualifications, experience and needs of the University. In the event that tenure-track positions are not filled as tenure-track, applicants may be considered for a temporary or visiting position for one year.
