Full-time, two-year renewable contracts
INTRODUCTION –
The University seeks to appoint native and near-native speakers of English language to teach across a range of courses offered by the ELC. The successful applicants are expected to engage in teaching English language courses to students (up to 20 hours per week) from a range of disciplines, contribute to developing course materials, and work closely with colleagues to plan, teach and test.
QUALIFICATIONS –
• An MA or a PhD in TESOL, TEFL, Applied Linguistics or a related field from a reputable university and a minimum of two (2) years of EFL/EAP teaching experience at tertiary/adult/university level (overseas experience is highly desirable).
• A BA or BSc degree and RSA Certificate/Diploma or equivalent in TEFL/TESL, in addition to four (4) years of EFL/EAP teaching experience at tertiary/adult/university level (overseas experience is highly desirable).
Knowledge of contemporary teaching practices and experience in testing/assessment, CALL/instructional technology/e-learning, and curriculum/materials design and development is highly desirable. Also, experience working with nontraditional/developmental students, flexibility, patience and creativity are good assets.
