You must understand that Italy had the BIGGEST commi party outside the Soviet Union and that is why Prodi who leans left is in power, given the fact that his party and the whole left coalition capitolized, among other things, on the unpopular present American political stand and Berlusconi's backing of same....and they only won by a cunni-hair.
As the world get flatter Prodi will approximate the center if he wants to survive, while Berlusconi will still be Berlusconi and the House of liberty will still be on the "freedom" train and always around to lead or check-mate faux-pas.
