Montgomery puts the brakes on after-work driving by city workers

The city of Montgomery, looking to trim spending, is putting the brakes on employees taking vehicles home from work. Starting this week the number will drop from 137 to four, the Montgomery Advertiser reports.
The changes are projected to save $450,000 to $550,000. Next the city will try to reduce the number of vehicles in its fleet and push the saves to $750,000, according to the newspaper.
