Mr Grantland represents parts of Vinemont,West Point and Fairview in the state legislature. Do you think anyone from that area will run for that seat now that its vacant? I saw where Hartselle Mayor Dwight Tankersley is running for the seat as a republican. The well respected statewide blogger over at politicalparlor.net now has that seat leaning to the GOP now that Grantlands retiring.

He would get my vote and support. Know him well and he lives in Cullman County (Vinemont). Grantland was a good rep. but I would like to have someone from Cullman County.

I would vote for him too but I think he should run against Oden and I think he lives in district 11 so that would be Odens district. I live in vinemont and hope he runs or stays on the board.

Hassenbein would definately get my vote! He's a very sensible man unlike so many of elected officials these days.
I'd like to see him run against Oden!

Would be my choice also but I really think he needs to be the superintendent however I hope he continues to be our board representative.

Maybe, maybe not. As for me I'm ready for someone new with an honest approach and who seems to be approachable with a sincere attitdue and personality. I'd vote for him.

I think its going to be difficult though for any dem or goper from Cullman to win this seat. Most of that district is in Morgan so I'd expect Tankersly on the GOp side or Stacy George on the dem side will win in the end.

You are probably right but Hassey would pull lots of votes from both parties in a general election in my opinion. He's really very much an independent thinker and person. I bet he would be a good campaigner.

Good board member and he will run again I've heard. If he doesn't, he would make a good rep.
