I don't think it will make any difference if Cullman goes wet except 3 things:November 12 2009 at 4:16 PM No score for this post | Former Drinker (no login) |
| 1. The Clubs will be out of business
2. We will have more than ONE decent restaurant
3. City will take in a little more tax money.
I am not an alcoholic but just decided that drinking is not for me. I don't care who drinks in my presence or who doesn't drink. Cullman is a pretentious little town and the drinking needs to come out into the open. It's here and will never go away. |

It's definitely out in the open. But i'd rather it just stay the way it is. Yes, the clubs are @ least 30 mins away and ppl DO make stupid decisions to drive home drunk. Some decide to stay home simply for the fact of drinking and driving for that distance. But i feel that if we WERE wet that the temptation and fatalities would be much higher here because of the shorter distance to travel. I'm not willing to cast that vote for "parties sake" to increase the chance of some idiot slaughtering one of my children on the highway. Peace,Love and Life... Ex-Partier. |

Hmmmm. That one's hard to figure. Longer distances traveled, more time on the road, behind the wheel......inebriated. That automatically, by default, translates into proportionally increased chances of having an accident.

Yeah....damned 'ole alcohol. It's much more sound to focus on not allowing the right to access a legal substance than on the meth and other such hellacious substances out there that increase the chance of some idiot slaughtering children.....whether on the highway or not.
A friend of mine's home burned last week. The attending firemen claimed that this particular fire was the first in their area this year that was a legitimate fire......and not the result of some meth lab blowing up and incinerating everything.
Although the county is "dry", we don't have stills blowing up and burning down houses.

If you were offende by that please read on. This is the way many people think about life. Yes I deliberatley tried to shock and offend you. But not out of hate. out of love. Here lately it seems more and more people don't care enough about each other. Please pray that things get better. |

Haha, 'prayer' is a waste of time. It accomplishes nothing! |

DUI's and accidents due to drinking go down when a dry county goes wet. |

Why does the drinking need to come out in the open like you said? Whats wrong with things like they are. People can go get what they want, when they want now.
I think we already have more than ONE good restaurant. Which one are you talking about? If a good restaurant is all people want, its not that far to drive to eat. |

"Why does the drinking have to come out in the open?"
My God! So many of you are living in 1620 or something! You act like having wine with dinner is a sin. I mean, it's so, backward, so ignorant and the thinking is so foreign to the rest of the country that I don't even know where to begin.
Drinking IS in the 'open'! The fact that you guys get some rush out of sneaking around like 13-year olds taking a nip behind the barn is just absolutely pathetic. |
