It looks to me that Patek has kept the same size central dial with night/day indicator from the 5110 (with a change to the guilloche pattern), and then simply spread out the time zone ring to allow the watch to fit into a larger case. While I have in general been supportive of Patek's recasing movements to larger, more modern cases (eg 3970/5970), I am getting a little frustrated that they are doing this so much.
At first glance, the dial here does not look as nicely balanced as the 5110. There are also obvious attempts to make the watch look more modern (case size, new guilloche pattern), which IMO conflict with the attempt to make it look more vintage at the same time (the hands). To my eye, the overall feel is awkward compared to the 5110.
Makes me a little sorry that I recently sold my 5110P.
