Response to And get yourself an Orbita Sempre .....

The investment in the Sempre has been made and you're right I shouldn't have got the box (wish I would have found this forum sooner) - now perhaps you can help me. Frankly, I haven't stopped wearing the watch although I have set up the Sempre for a test run. I find that it runs at 20 on the meter without the watch being attached. With the watch attached and the tension set to the lowest (turned setting screw counterclockwise to the max) I found that the meter number went to 40 before the winding stopped and reversed itself for a few seconds.

2 questions. First, does the 3 second reversing do anything good or bad to the crown/mainspring? When I manually wind the watch I only turn the crown clockwise - should I be turning it back and forth when I wind it? Second, it seems like a ton of extra unnecessary tension is being put on the watch/crown/mainspring especially when I compare it to the way I wind it. I wind it slowly and stop immediately when I feel its fully wound - basically putting no tension on it at all.

Allow me to thank you all for your time and help - it is much appreciated.
