First of all, congratulations!
While having a winder for a manual wind watch is a nice convenience, it's really not so hard if a 3970 or 5970 stops. That's because the pusher on the top left advances everything by 1 day per push. It advances the day, date, and moon phase. So, suppose you go a week without wearing it, when you pick it up again, it's just 7 pushes and a quick setting of the hour and minute, and you're done. Also, while the winder is designed to stop once the watch is fully wound, wat if it were to malfunction?
