OK I just did the test now. I adjusted the Sempre to the lowest torque setting and observed as it is wound. At the lowest setting with the watch attached the torque ran at a constant 30-31 as it fully wound the watch (it did not stop before the watch was fully wound) and then the torque shot up to about 45-50 before it reversed itself.
When I took the watch off it was fully wound to the max. Therefore I am concerned because at the lowest setting it seems like a ton of extra unnecessary tension is being put on the watch/crown/mainspring at the end before it stops and reverses itself. NOTE: even at the lowest torque the winder did not stop at all before the watch was fully wound.
Once again when I hand wind it I do it sloooowly and stop immediately when I feel its fully wound - basically putting ZERO tension on it at the end when the watch is fully wound.
AM I MISSING SOMETHING HERE??? Am I being paranoid?
