Seems you have got it right. As soon as the electronics detect an increase in torque it switches into reverse. I understand the Sempre has a secondary safety device in the form of a mechanical clutch which will slip if the electronics fail to cut in.
Yours seems to be acting perfectly but if you need further reassurance give the people at the Orbita factory a call. They are very helpful and will talk you through the whole system +49 7641 93 75 748. There is a secondary adjustment, which is factory set, but you need to talk to the experts before playing with it.
The bottom line seems to be it is impossible for the Sempre to damage your watch, the torque adjuster is there to cope with the wide variation in watch winder 'stiffness'. I have to confess I set mine for another watch (at a much higher torque setting) and forgot to set it back for my 5970. It ran for a couple of months like this until I spotted it. No damage was caused. |
