Dearest venerable Purists!

I am tormented which model to purchase, a langematik perp in Platinum of a PP5059 in Red gold. Both watches appeal to me but unfortunately, I have to choose between them.

Please guide my confused mind. Cite the pros and cons between the two watches in terms of movement, value, finishings, etc.

Many thanks!!!

I will go for the 5059RG.
It is much more 'lasting' than the Langematik Perpetual in its look department.
This lange is a bit too complicated in its layout.
The 5059G has a very classical appeal with its officer case. The con of 5059 is that it is rather thick at 14mm
with its diameter of only 36mm. And it is and will always be a shadow of its better sibbling , PP5050.
I think one of the most beautiful perpetual PP has in its current range will be 5040. It wears beautifully on the wrist
Value wise, Patek will be slightly better than the lange.
In the very least , you know you will at least retain 60% of what you pay for either watch.
Hope it helps.

My preference is a 5050, which you are fortunate to already own.

My motto is if in doubt, go for a Patek (at least you are able to retain your investment a lot better then other brands).

Best of luck.

5059 would be a better choice, it looks nicer IMO.
But I would rather have it in WG or Plat.
