Yeah, I agree. It's definitely a better pilot than most. TNG's pilot is dreadful, and while the X-File's isn't bad, per se, it's still not representative of the series. Pilots tend to be a mixed bag. A really good pilot does not lead to a great series, either.
The Hunter pilot is cool. The actors really click.
