City of Passion Question

Okay, I have always questioned the end of City of Passion. Now, I understand what happened, but what I do not understand is Brad and Kitty. Charlie said that the only people that knew that McCall did not report the rape attempt were the following: Charlie, Rick, and McCall's doctor. So what did Brad and Kitty think? Kitty told Bigfoot's wife that he was arrested inside a woman's house and Ambrose said that all he knew was that McCall arrested him at her house. Well, as detectives, wouldn't they question why Bigfoot was at McCall's house? Brad was questioning Bigfoot in the interrogation room and Bigfoot said "That slut lured me there." The slut he was referring to was McCall, so wouldn't Brad be suspicious if Bigfoot said Mccall lured him there and then he is arrested in her home? So, my question is, should we assume that H&M made it seem like Bigfoot was just going to break in on McCall and that she was able to arrest him before anything happened? Is that what supposedly happened?
