Nah, you are not sad, you are right. Hugs are great, for exactly that reason. I'm a hugger too.
As for spoiling the episode, don't worry. I found what you said fascinating. I am looking forward to seeing UB, though.
But, as you said, it's definitely great to see their open affection (without romance). Most TV couples are patterened after David/Maddie, Sam/Diane, Spike/Lynda, Scully/Mulder, Lois/Clark, Tony/Angela, etc. etc.
Platonic relationships where the friends are very open with their feelings are rarer. Sam and Rebecca only really found that level in the final season or two. Jerry and Elaine weren't always particularly nice to one another (or anybody else!!).
Hunter and McCall buck the trend.
It's great.
