Aren't both of you kindergarten teachers??? Well my son is a kindergartener and he is doing wonderfully. He is reading and has awesome math skills. He has a really good teacher. She has been teaching for over 30 years and she is actually renowned in Ft. Wayne as the kindergarten teacher to have. Anyway he tends to write several of his numbers such as 2,3,7,9 backwards and a few letters. I asked her if we should be concerned about it and she said that he is doing it more than the average but she thinks he is doing it out of habit. They journal everyday and although she corrects him when he writes letters or numbers backwards she told me she hesitates to make a big issue out of it because he is so eager to write and she doesn't want him to be so concerned about doing things right that he doesn't want to write. But she did say this is a big marking period for this. Do you have any ideas about how to get him to not do this???? He doesn't do it all the time and although dyslexia runs in both sides of my husbands family I don't believe he has it because he has no problems reading. Just wondering if either of you had any ideas?
