Just found this 1999 post. It seems that TBS (The Butcher Station) was not only butchering HUNTER, but also PERRY MASON:

TBS is basically "The Butcher Station", not "The Super Station". I'm
beginning to think they actually enjoy what they do. Does anyone out
there watch the show "Hunter"? It's on 1:00PM on TBS. Anyway, some of
the best scenes in that show are the great jokes that pass between the
two stars, Fred Dryer and Stepfanie Kramer. Unfortunately, TBS cuts at
least three minutes from each show -- and the parts they always cut
are the Fred-Stepfanie scenes. Worst of all, the show the scenes in
the opening preview and the closing credits, so we all KNOW that
they cut them!

The same goes for Perry Mason. How many people were watching the
second episode when it showed on TBS and waited ever-so-patiently for
the famous shoulder-rubbing scene between Perry and Della, and then
got to the end only to realize, "THEY CUT THAT!"

And how many people were watching "Perry Mason Returns" and were
slightly puzzled when there was no great chemistry shown between Perry
and Della when they met again for the first time in thirty years --
when we finally got to where the two of them were, they were already
discussing the case. And then we went and read the plot description on
the Internet and realized, "THEY CUT THAT!"

It kind of makes you wonder about "The Butcher Station", doesn't it?
Do they really have a heart, or are they just stone cold? <sniff>

Hunter"
