The first season of Hunter is scheduled to be released on January 1, 2005 with the entire series due for release by season in the months thereafter.

I, personally, haven't seen any series released in multiple seasons. They seem to try to be milking us for every penny. But, if I had to get S7 to get S6, I would definitely do it.
