I'm here!
I'm also about a six hour drive from Mobile, Al. We're in NE Alabama, and should be getting our start of the storm tomorrow evening...lasting the weekend. They've already said they'll be issuing tornado warnings w/o a doubt. We won't be getting t-storms. Tornadoes. [sigh]
The stores were packed today and tonight. Bread has gone with the wind...so to speak. People have gotten tons of bottled water, bread, candles, flashlights...you name it. Today was the first time I've ever seen businesses putting tape on the windows to protect from the wind.
Your husband is in Birmingham? (aka B'ham) he's an hour south of me. I live in Gadsden. I've been there many, many times and my brother used to work there. I do hope your husband will be safe and sound, and home soon. I'll say a prayer for him.
I have close family friends in Pensacola, FL. and they told me last week they'd stay put. Well, they've evacuated the area, and I'm sure she and her mother had to go. I saw the newcast from there. Not so good. I've got cousins in Biloxi, Miss. and I'm worried about them too.
It's good to hear from you.
Take care.
