Hi Bill,

I am very elated that you replied. You are such a great person to share to us
your knowledge about Taiwan cinema and music. When I was very young, as in elementary
yet, my father used to bring me along when he watched Chinese movies. The movie stars
are mostly from Shaw bros. I came to appreciate Chinese movies in that young age. Later, I was able to watch also the movies of Chen Chen and Tang Pao Yin. They were
really so beautiful. When I was already in my college, I remember they were still
reigning in the box office, beauties like Lin Ching Hsia and Joan Lin take turns in
bringing joy to the Chinese People of Asia I believe. Music so melodious that I kept
on expecting for new ones to come. I remember those songs like Ai teh siao U. Hai O,
songs by Liu won chen, Pan an Pang, Yin Hsia, Fung Fei Fei and Chen Ni. Those are
so beautiful and the era of Taiwan Music. Lately, I cant really appreciate the Taiwan
songs except for those sentimental ones. I hope that one day, i can go to Hongkong and
Singapore to find these old movies and songs. Because up to now, i linger on the
movies that i saw when i was younger. I am very happy that you are here to share
to us your knowledge and passion for Taiwan Movie Classics and Songs. We are indeed
very lucky to be able to pass by here and read your columns. Indeed its memory down
the lane. I was able to buy a few years ago some old Taiwan movies in vcd in Ongpin
Manila. However, may be due to limited demands. These exclusive shops have stopped
to sell these vcds and opted to sell the for the mass type which are mostly in the
tele series tv movies type and are mostly recent produced. These are not my type,
because I could not shake off my thirst for the Taiwan movies of years ago. I have
bought a love of the early issues of Shaw bros movies. Lately, these shops in
Manila stopped selling Shaw Movies too. The reason is that these are very expensive
by Philippine standards because of the price of 300 pesos each.
Luckily I was able to buy earlier but the recent releases no more.

Bill thanks again for sharing to us your passion and knowledge on this aspect. Please
keep on to share them to us. Thank you and regards....... Nelson
