Yun Piao Piao aka Gone With the Wind and Moon River aka Yun He

Found these 2 movies rather disappointing. Somehow Lin Qing Hsia and Gu ming Lun just did not have the type of chemistry that Liu Jia Chang was hoping to develop. I dont know if some of you have noticed but movies of the 1970s which were directed by Liu Jia Chang somehow has the male lead as Gu Ming Lun. He was obviously trying to push Gu Ming Lun to stardom. However if I remember right,it never materialise as Gu committed suicide before he could achieve what Liu Jia Chang had hope to establish.

Tang Bao Yun and Kwan Shan in Yun Piao Piao were at their best in Yun Piao Piao. Songs were good too.

My only consolation is that these DVDs released by Hoker which I purchased from Taiwan for about S$9 all came with a music CD ( with lyrics) featuring some of the more popular 1970s movie sound tracks by Liu Jia Chang, Feng Fei Fei, Han Bao Yi, Hsiao Li Choo, Zhen Ni, Gao Ling Feng, Liu Wen Zheng etc. The music CDs are all different but all of them are songs from that 1970 era.

I also bought September Song, Misty Drizzle, The Lost Romance and The Melody of Love.I now recollect who the dashing Tian Peng is. How could I have forgotten this actor who looks as good as Alan Tang? I really enjoyed walking down Memory Lane. My this working trip to Taiwan was not futile.

Warning to those which wish to buy the DVDs with the free music CD, do be careful. There is a sticker on the box to highlight this free gift. So dont buy those without the sticker. Only certain places in Taipeh have this promotion. I bought these from a store at Taipei Che Zhan
