Hi
well, who can I talk about today?
There were several singers in the 70s who tried to break in with a successful soundtrack album. Some succeeded, some failed. Those who failed did not mean that their albums were bad. Some were greatly produced but they just did not make it for many reasons: lack of publicity, timing, too much competition, etc.
I would like to highlight some here in the forum:
Kang Ja Lan - she did one album called Du Juen Hua Kai Shi - movie starred Charlie Chin and Lin Feng Chiao, the movie did not do well in the box office as well. it was one of the last movies by Feng Chiao.
Fei Chen Ling - the sister of fei yu qing. Only one album, songs from Cui Hu Han, starring Chin Han and Lin Feng Chiao. She has excellent voice, the songs were great, written by Ruo Ming Dao - there were 3 songs written for the movie. Movie did well in box office but the singer did not. She disappeared from the scene shortly after.
Wang Xiao Chin - she has a voice like Jiang Yin, and produced an album for movie Ai Qing Shan Ji Tiao, starring Chelsia Chan and Alan Tam. funny movie, I liked it. also starred Gui Ya Lei. Directed by Bai Jin Rui. Ruo Ming Dao did try to promote her as new generation singer after Feng Fei Fei and Jenny, but the public did not accept it.
Hua Xuan Xuan - She is not a new singer, she was with Kolin label. At that label she did a soundtrack called Shi Ji Lu Ko (Crossroads) a touching movie starring Ivy Lin Po, Ching Han, Han Xiang Ching, Tang Wei. The songs were written by Lin Jia Ching. Liu Jia Chang also tried to promote her by writing her a great song "Dian Dian Xi Yu" but did not help much in her career. She has got a unique voice, would have liked to see more of her. She went to Hai Shan and produced a movie album "Tai Tai Ching Ren Nu Png You", starring Ke Chun Hsiong, Liu Shang Qian, Chuo Yen Rong. Movie flopped but there were 3 great songs written by Ruo Ming Dao for the movie.
enjoy and if you can think of other forgotten singers, pls share.
