Hi Kok
yes, the story of Chi Qing Ke Wen Tian is very depressing and sad. I did not really like the movie as much back then. Songs by Gu Yue were lovely though.
Interesting that you mentioned there was only one movie from Joan that Feng Fei Fei sang. Many of Feng fei fei's soundtracks are for movies by Lin Ching Hsia. I remember that back then for taiwanese romantic love story movies, there was the Iron Triangle: Lin Ching Hsia with Charlie or Chin Han PLUS Qiong Yao PLUS Feng Fei Fei songs, was the box office success formula.
Actually, Feng Fei Fei also performed songs written by Liu Chia Chang for the movie Jing Sui Lo Tai, starring Lin Feng Chiao and Alan Tang. However, the director ultimately chose the songs by Gu Yue and sang by Teresa Teng.
Summer, Holiday and Rose starring Lin Feng Chiao, Charlie Chin, Tian Niu, Shi Feng, featured songs written by Gu Yue and performed by Feng Fei Fei. This was one of the succesful 3 boys vs 3 girls love story movies of the 70s. This is the only movie I can think of where Lin Feng Chiao and Feng Fei Fei teamed up. Strange, isn't it? There are several contributing factors, the director's choice, the composer's choice which will bring the singer together with the movie and its stars.
Good observation.
