am i pronouncing that right?

is arvo part pronounced like it written?

im only familiar with him through the internet, so ive only seen his name in text, never heard it spoken.

someone told me they thought it was something more like
"are-woe pe-art" (maybe as one would say Vagner rather than wagner)

i couldnt find a phonetic on this site anywhere.
possibly the only bit of info on him that isnt here (this is an excellent site), or maybe i just didnt find it.

Arvo Part is not pronounced as in English. 'Part' is pronounced 'pairt', like the word pair or pear.

Pa"rt - is pronounced with 'a' as in apple.

Arvo is harder to explain-
a like 'are',
r is rolling
v is simple v
o is pronounced like in olive'
