Hi,
My wife and I will be retiring in a couple of years, and we plan to sell our home here in Massachusetts, buy either a motor home or Fifth wheel and just travel for at least a couple of years.
We are interested in corresponding with anyone who has done this..we want to plan this right and feel, what better way to get all the facts....find out all the ins and outs of this than to talk with those who are already doing it.

A few specific things to get the ball rolling:

Does anyone have an opinion as to which is better, a fifth wheel or a motor home? We are leaning toward a fifth wheel right now, as where we will be "living" in the unit, there seems to be more room and more options with this route?

We want to base out of a State that has reasonable taxes (I can say that Mass. is definately not that State...."Taxachusetts" is definately appropriate...lol.
when we sell our primary home here in Mass (our only home) and begin traveling, does anyone have any knowlege of how to esblsih residency in anohter State?? I do know of a ocuple who are doing what we plan to do and I believe they established residency in Texas with just a PO box.. What about registering to vote or the mail??

Any information of nationwide satilite TV...nationwide internet hookup??

Any tips or hints for us newcomers...things to do, or not do??

Any particularlly good campgrounds...or not so good?? things to see?
Length of stay....weekly, monthly, etc...??

We are mostly interested in Warm climates in the winter months....head north in the Summer...considering a trip in the summer months to Alaska...

Any help of specific types of Fifth wheels or motorhomes?? Any particular types of brand names that are good...bad....accessories we should be sure to include??

Any info would be appreciated...either posted here or emailed to us at: rgv55@yahoo.com

Thanks,

R. Vance
