Anyone interested in a climbing trip to Ruth Gorge, Alaska?
Around 5/19- 5/31.
I'm looking for a few climbers to come along and dig me out of an avalanche (if need be).
My summer climbing partner bailed (he's scared of cold and heights).
I would like to give Mt. Dickey a try. West Face route (class 1 or 2 I think).
Since I'm poor, this trip will be "on the cheap". Air travel: $400-450 Denver to Anchorage, Shuttle to Talkeetna, $? beer in Talkeetna, $450 bush plane to Ruth Gorge. Then home fast so I can get back to washing dishes.
Climbers of all skill levels welcome. If your old and slow, great, so am I. Pro's come along and try the Mooses Tooth while I watch from base camp and cook.
I will be training this winter in the front range (Denver), doing mulit day camp/climbs.
