Personally, from my personal knowledge, Whitby worked the hardest and deserved it. They didn't drop a single game from the start of qualifiers. A lot of Whitby's players came to play and Ottawa and thats why i feel they deserved it.

On Aug 14 the Elora Midget Mohawks and the Orangeville Midget Northmen faced off for the last game of the day. The game was tied 3-3 going in to the 3rd and with 9 minutes left to go Elora scored to make it 4-3, with 2 minutes left to go Elora got a penalty shot and the guy who took it was none other than Danny Keane . Keane scored with 2 fakes and a shot which was a beautiful goal might i say. So the team that went in as team 7 of the elite 8 held the top offense in Ontario to 3 goals. Final Score 5-3 Elora
P.S. Whitby beat Orangeville in the gold medal game 4-2

Sandbagging is when you deliberately throw games or keep them close. Whitby 2 were initially submitted as an A team. 18 teams applied for A this year in midget, they would only take 12, so that everyone could play each other. London and Elora appealed to go A. Elora won there appeal and that made it 13, 6 games each weekend, they also ended up quallifying to go to Summer games.
Posted on Aug 6, 2008, 8:43 AM from IP address 207.164.171.148
ok well they obviously sandbagged, what a joke they didnt sanbag! They played whitbhy 1 tight all year but then trow close games to teams that are terrible, in a b tournament missisaga lost to napean 10-0 and mississaga went A, in the arthur one day tournament in elora they beat NOTL 13-6 and NOTL could be a contender, but then in the final they beat arthur 8-4.... WTF. If they can only beat a C team by four goals something is wrong but thats exactly how they make the games close, i think for all the other B teams in the provincials its terrible they are in, the OLA should have recongnized this because in previous years whitby 2 has gone A several years in the past and were good contenders
Posted on Aug 6, 2008, 1:31 PM from IP address 24.36.89.22
Whitby 2 did not play A in Bantam they did play A when this group was Peewee. They did not even get to the B final when they were Bantam age as Barrie beat windsor in the final. To suggest they threw games to get a B rating is a little far fetched.
Posted on Aug 6, 2008, 9:31 PM from IP address 99.235.220.186
The number 2 (1992) team has only gone A in there minor year. Whenever they played with the 91's who are now Intermediate. They have never gone A in their minor year with the 93's.
They applied to go A, the OLA would not let them. Stop crying and get ready for provincials, they can be beat, just like any other team. It's all about consistency, if a team has one bad game, that does not define their season.
Posted on Aug 7, 2008, 9:01 AM from IP address 207.164.171.148
whitby 2 is alright this year they beat there 1 team but i heard whitby 1 was missing like 5 players and we beat them all 3 times we played them but they were all pretty good games we beat them by 1 goal in the A zone championship game they had a 4-3 lead with 5 minutes left so ya they probly could have gone A
Posted on Jul 31, 2008, 10:05 AM from IP address 24.235.129.41
seth griffith is the most overated player in the ****ing OLA yes he is better than alot of players
but he isin't the best and i own him in the net.
in my opinion Quinn Powless is the best first year
Posted on Jul 7, 2008, 8:46 PM from IP address 24.57.166.25
hahahahaha the sarnia goalie sucks so much, what is he chirpin about..you should worry about how your team is doing and start stopping the ball..pffffft
Posted on Jul 12, 2008, 1:10 AM from IP address 216.8.142.54
i dunno but i hate it when i see players on a trainwreck to humiliation he'll get so worked up at provincials he won't be able to deal with the pressure i hate seein it
Posted on Jul 22, 2008, 1:11 AM from IP address 99.252.211.143
hahahahahhahahah sarnia goalie are u joking.. buddy your the ****tiest goalie in zone 7. prety sure last time we played you you got pulled you plug. everyone on your team says your ****ty and thast your why you guys dont win games. We had our way with you.. your pathetic
Posted on Jul 12, 2008, 1:30 AM from IP address 76.10.182.86
Lets be serious for a second, seth griffith was the leading goal scorer at bantam nationals last year and is what, one of three minors to make the team O midget team, overated is far from the truth. as for sarnia, we cant even make it out of zone games so we definitely shouldnt have one of our tendies chirping one of the best players in ontario
Posted on Jul 14, 2008, 3:27 PM from IP address 69.159.61.93
with the goalie mask if i can add that in there and no i don't think im all that but i'm saying you probably couldn't deal with the pressure of stoppin the ball and having guys chirp you at the same time, i chirped your team last year and we got spanked by you cause we had one major and our other goalie let 5 of 10 in
Posted on Aug 11, 2008, 12:55 AM from IP address 99.252.215.248
come on guys lets not start bashing ppl over the forum no one is the greatest goalie or forward. sure some players are better then others but doesnt mean u call them overrated a joke or a plug. goalies do not single handenly lose games! it is a team sport, teams lose games not just one player. its midget lacrosse lets all try to focus on our own games then on other players. it is good sportsmanship to compliment a players play but its bad to make fun of their play. sayin u had ur way with a goalie and calling the player pathetic over the INTERNET doesnt sound TOUGH at all. like come on guys some players have attitudes over the net. doesnt meen u should have a attitude problem also. be the real man and dont talk **** over the net.

20 shots down the middle at the goalie makes them all look good , if you watched the game the only thing owensound has is a fast long bomb hope he catches it , they scored 3 in the first and went dry after that ,1 was a breakaway, if anything they both looked B
Posted on May 10, 2008, 8:09 PM from IP address 70.50.186.100
Ok there is a difference in deserving to win and winning Yes owensound scored 1 more goal were they out played in every other aspect of the game yes did they deserve to win IMO NO could K-W catch a break NO so there is a difference in 98% of games played a team that dominates they play for the majority of the game wins.
were you at the game and who do you play for??
Posted on May 16, 2008, 11:12 PM from IP address 99.236.79.191
Yes I was at the game and no I do not play. My son does. Owen Sound has an excellent tender that shut down almost every shot and yes, he deserved to win. He more than earned it.
Owen Sound has improved alot over the past two years and will be a force this season. Our full roster has yet to be utilized and that in itself is going to make them much, much stronger.
Beating KW#1 had never been achieved. Easily beating Elora is becoming a simple task. Guelph game should have been a tie, but in the refs opinion, it wasn't and I'm not going to argue with that. Four players were away and had 2 of them been there, totally different outcome. Guaranteed!
Owen Sound has only 4 92's and one has yet to hit the floor. 93's definately dominate.
Posted on May 17, 2008, 8:04 AM from IP address 209.240.124.71
Fair enough but K-W was also missing 3 key players so I guess we dont really know who the best team was all I was saying was that I thought K-W carried the play for the majority of the game and Owen Sound was forunate a early lead held up due to solid goaltending and some poor shot selection
see ya on the 26th as you will see a even shorter bench in K-dub
Posted on May 17, 2008, 11:29 AM from IP address 99.236.79.191
you guys (owensound) lost to guelph!!! there a joke and still ur saying o we should of tied..there terrible if you guys think your so good and can beat k-w and elora guelph is way worse then both of those teams
Posted on May 17, 2008, 1:17 PM from IP address 76.64.109.5
WHOA there boxlaxtaxi calm down a bit I know I think we should have beat you guys pretty bad but we didnt so be it and we dominated Guelph for the most part and beat Fergus pretty sound everyone is entitled to there own opinion there is no need to dump on people for there own opinions or views nobody mentioned any particular players just teams so lets continue this but be respectful
Posted on May 18, 2008, 12:53 PM from IP address 99.236.79.191
Not dumping on anyone. Also not here to argue with kids. I don't recall ever saying we were better than other teams. I did say our goalie deserved to win that game. AS well, I stated that Owen Sound has definately improved and will be more dominant than in previous years.
The kid posting to a previous response is obviously from Guelph and if he was either in or at the game, he'd know that game could have easily went either way and should have been a tie. Not a feat that has ever been so close. Guelph and KW#1 have always handily beat Owen Sound.
KW#1 is still the team to beat, regardless of his thoughts.

hold up. Someone want to tell me why there is a parent on the MIDGET forum. Seriously talk in the minor one. This is for midget kids, no need to argue with 15 year olds... unless it makes you feel that much tougher.
Posted on May 19, 2008, 7:40 PM from IP address 99.250.118.132
ahahah what are all you people arguing about...every team uve mentioned will be a lo-class B team at best... elora! ahha.. fergus..ahha...k-w... ahahah and especially owen sound ur all jokes.. worry about real teams that have a chance at winnin a game this year.. have fun in B fellas..
Posted on May 19, 2008, 10:04 PM from IP address 24.141.2.175
Alright, HERE it is OWEN sound was a far superior team last year as was kitchener, owen sound beat kitchener once last year faced them in the zone finals which kitchener won because the couldnt beat the minor year goalie as well couldnt beat him in whitby at the qualifiers. NOT ALWAYS does the better team win, last year kitchener was the better team and just missed qualifing with less goals against than 2 teams that actually qualified, owen sound got the win big deal , kitchener will remain a better team at the end of the year, good luck to both
Posted on May 21, 2008, 11:42 AM from IP address 74.12.191.151
Anyways, owensound, the show has begun without you!!!! any games before this weekend meant little in zone1!!!! who will be that champ,,,,, NOT U / NOT U in WHITBY oh by the way little boy blue/blew his horn toooo
Posted on Jul 11, 2008, 6:57 PM from IP address 74.14.57.128
Umm.. ok there buddy! how can you say that Elora and Guelph are two weak teams. First of all Elora made it to the summer games, and i am pretty sure K-W didn't. Secondly,Guelph beat Owen sound to win the zone championship. Guelph lost their fist game of the playoffs to Owen sound but then came back to win four games straight, and won the zone championship. So you can't say that these two teams are weak.
Posted on Aug 5, 2008, 11:24 PM from IP address 72.141.165.106
holy sarnia goalie again. The owen sound goalie is 10 times better then you will ever be. He ACCTUALLY stops the ball. Your probably the shadiest goalie ive played against all year. So dont tell other goalies what they need to work on cause there isnt one part of being a goalie that your good at. You even look like a fag out there
Posted on Jul 12, 2008, 8:03 PM from IP address 76.64.207.92
k-w and owend-sound tied 6-6 last night. O-S was winning 5-1 going into the 3rd when K-W started to take over and went up 6-5 with 2 minutes to go. O-S scored with 20 seconds left from a shot off the boards and went off the k-w's goalies leg and into the net. K-W only had 11 runners with 1 being a goalie and had some players playing hurt.

provincial refs are a HUGE jokes...
the whtiby 3 game v.s shelburn or w.e
wtf was that penality shot for :S
i feel sry for whtby 3 and all the rest of the team that got fcked around
buy dumb ass refs
like the orilla game way to keep it under control refs ! YOUR AWSOME
Posted on Aug 9, 2008, 4:10 PM from IP address 70.50.189.180
k buddy the ref made the right call, the rule book for provincials cleary states that in the overtime if there is a too many men call it is automatically a penalty shot. The ref made the right call it just sounds like you are and upset player or parent from the whitby 3 team. Even the Orillia game from what i herd how the hell do u expet 2 refs to keep a bunch of kids from going into the stands the refs are out numbered and i sure that they tried there best.
Posted on Aug 9, 2008, 11:15 PM from IP address 24.36.89.22
The refs were not a factor in the end of game Orillia / Clarington issue it was the spiting, foul mouthed confrontational, Clarington Dad period!!! No players went into the stands!!!
Posted on Aug 10, 2008, 9:41 AM from IP address 99.242.113.3
k well no one in like stands or playing new about that rule
that is a bush rule for sure.
and the orilla game well im preety sure the refs stood by like panzys
not doing anything

Guelph 6- Orilla 5
Orilla 5- Clarington 3
Orilla was at it again. Brawl in the stands. Players coming up stairs to help out their IDIOT Parents.
Dad punches chick in face, then she attacks him, last I seen she was choking the S**T out of him.
Orilla really needs to Ban TWO DADS from the rinks, spend whole game pissin off everyone, even most of their own parents.
All could have been avoided if the Refs had kept things in line, charging not called, but goalie called for too many men when he was half in his bench but clearly in the box. Too bad for Clarington, they where a classy Team with a lot of talent.
Posted on Aug 8, 2008, 11:13 PM from IP address 72.141.165.106
So, classy is trying to start a fight with an orillia bantam player with 30 seconds left in the game, cross checking an orillia player in the head 3 times wanting him to fight well the play was in the other end of the floor, then when orillia trainer went on to the floor to help the injured player, a parent from clarington spit on the orillia trainer. "REAL CLASSY"

yes, that is true. In halton's case, one of the players lived in Caledon, and since their midget team folded, he went to play in Halton. Since he only played there for a year, he was still considered a caledon player in the draft.
