Response to Re: We need your help, overseas escapees!
Good for you Michael. I take my hat off to you!
Here is my story..
After giving 20 of my youthful years to PNG serving in the education sector. I took my long service leave with nothing to show for those 20 years. I made a decision to spend my remaining working years to do whatever was necessary to become financially secure. After 10 years overseas, I live in my own house (almost paid off). I also have a house back in PNG. I have enough money invested in the stock market to enable me to retire financially secure any time I wish for the rest of my life. My children are educated. Did PNG get me to where I am now? NOPE. I gave my 20 of my best and youthful years sweating for PNG and ended up with nothing. I applaud you all so-called nationalists of PNG. But just remember, regardless of how highly educated you are and how hard you work, you will end up counting toeas to buy bread like I did for 20 years. In PNG, the only way you will get somewhere financially is to become a MP or at least be a briefcase carrier of a sitting MP.
While overseas, I send a fair amount of money back to PNG each month. Over the years, that has amounted to tens of thousands of Kina. I inject foreign exchange directly into PNG's economy. When I retire and return and settle in a quiet and remote beachfront in PNG, I will bring in over K2.5million into the PNG economy during my retirement. The PNG economy will benefited many times over from my work overseas. You see, I continue to play an active role in PNG's economy. So all you hateful, jealous, and resentful "nationalists", you can talk big but your contribution to PNG's economy will NOT match mine, both past and present. So, you should try and, at least, have some pride in the "small" number of PNGans who have done their time and "SERVED" PNG for years, then went overseas and they continue to contribute to PNG's economy.
