Britton Hill---April 20, 2005

Response to Lakewood (Britton Hill), Florida (345 feet)

This is the last highpoint on my sweep through eight states. Driving about 238 miles from Cheaha Mountain to Britton Hill I was surprised that as I drove up to the Florida's highpoint I noticed a man there that I met on Mt. Rogers two days before (see Mt. Rogers post). We talked about how odd it was that we ended up at that highpoint at the same time. We took a few photos, wished each other well, and we were off. I would drive to and spend the night in Mobile before ending up in New orleans for the Jazz and Heritage Festival. Eight highpoints on this trip, a lot of driving but a very interesting experience. I plan to tackle some of the harder highpoints out west this summer/fall. Thanks for your interest.

Michael
