well you've never heard of it coz YOU'RE AMERICAN!!! what the hell does "I think Australia and England have Dual.." mean???
dual citizenship is basically having 2 passports (i.e. you're a citizen of 2 countries). it's beneficial when it's "better" to be one nationality than another. e.g. travelling to aussie is a lot easier if one is carrying an american passport than a png passport. no need for visa (i think?), no need for strip search, no need for drug sniffer dogs, no need for cavity search, no stupid questions about what are you going to oz for? where will you stay? who's paying for the trip? etc.
to the person who asked the question, yes you CAN have dual citizenship (if you do it on the sly) BUT png doesn't allow it. so if you get busted at immigration coming into png with both your passports you'll have to give one up on the spot... |

The U.S. government allows dual citizenship. United States law recognizes U.S. Dual Citizenship, but the U.S. government does not encourage it is as a matter of policy due to the problems that may arise from it. It is important to understand that a foreign citizen does NOT lose his or her citizenship when becoming a U.S. citizen. An individual that becomes a U.S. citizen through naturalization may keep his or her original citizenship.
However, as some countries do not recognize dual citizenship, it is important to consider it carefully before applying for.
Therefore you really need to contact the PNG policy and legislation to ascertain if you are able to continue to hold your PNG passport once becoming a US citizenship. There was some debate in parliament some years ago and bill was to be passed to allow PNG citizenship with other countries, but not sure if this bill was passed.

As Far as I know _ if you are a decendent of PNG( mama, papa blo yu PNG). Absolutely!!!! YOU CAN APPLY FOR A PNG passport/citizenship. Its your RIGHT!!!! It makes you PNG by DECEANT
Having said that, If you are born in America, you are automatically American by Birth/citicen. - YOU can actuially have both these documents citizenship(American) and passport.
I Know alot of PNGns who have dual citizenships - weather it be American/ PNG or English /PNG or AUS/PNG. MOst of them aquired this dual citizenship a good 10 years. Times have changed. IV also watched alot of these friends - Loose their PAssport.
The best thing you can do- is do a simply Search on PNG consulates in your Country - most information can be found on their website - however for better understanding of your rights and to protect yourself legally (whereever you are)- its to speak to someone from these consulates. American immigration laws are a whole lot more tougher, and strict. So my concern for you is how this would affects your American status.
I reside in AUS - and have being wondering about the same thing too. My child born in PNG - carries a PNG passport and birth certificate. HOwever He is a citizen of AUS by decendent (papa - AUS) and more than eligible to Get a AUS passort.
what Happy Butt was trying to say is - YOu can actually have both passports. even thou PNG immigration at the moment advices against it.
Apparently PNG immigrations laws Dont allow Dual Citizenships anymore (So Iv heard)- If you carry two passports you can use them both with the risk of loosing them if caught. YOu are not fined or faced with legal actions but you do have to choose which passport serves you best for your needs of travel.
KET WORDS : CHOOSE A PASSPORT THAT BEST SERVES YOUR NEEDS FOR TRAVEL AND ALSO RESPECT YOUR CITIZENSHIP and way of living whereever you may be.

U can not have a dual passport with PNG. Once you turn 18 or caught with dual passports with PNG they tell u to choose. PNG representatives make to much money selling PNG passports and citizenships. seen a flock of new races into the country setting up and using ordinary pngeans |

You can get a visa in your png passport that states you are a U.S citizen born abroad but you do not have to reliquish your png citizenship.
hope this helps |

Just Fly into Australia on your US passport and transit out to Fly from Australia to PNG using PNG passport. Do likewise on your outbound flight. |
