I was at a girls' grammar school in the early 60's, and was once caned by the headmistress when I was fifteen, after being caught smoking. The headmistress had just recently been appointed at the school, and nobody knew much about whether she would be in favour of corporal punishment or not. Well I was soon to find out that she was! When I went in, she produced a really swishy-looking thin cane. Previously, girls had been caned while bending over the back of a chair in a standing position, but I had to lift up my skirt and go over a high stool with my legs straight out behind, feet together and hands and toes touching the floor. In this position, I couldn't leap up to grab my behind after a stroke or impede the action of the cane in any way. I felt completely helpless, and I just had to lie there while she gave me four real stingers across my knickers, all on the lower part of my bottom and including a couple right into the crease area which were absolutely agonising. I was in floods of tears afterwards, and the weals took several days to fade. That was my only experience of the cane, but it was certainly enough to convince me that I didn't want another one. It seemed to me that this position lying across the stool was a very effective one for whipping the cane down almost vertically onto the most tender part of the buttocks. Did anyone else have to lie across a stool to get caned in this way?
