Trains between Peckham and Worthing

June 23 2003 at 12:12 AM
The Peckham Poet

This thread, following on from the excellent idea of squirrel under the ‘Powerful Advertising’ topic, is to encourage National Rail (formerly Failtrack) to advertise on our forum. There is, unfortunately, no direct service between Peckham Rye and Worthing. One has to change at London Bridge and again at East Croydon.

While we are waiting for the delayed 09.46, due to overcrowding at Penge, here is a song to put us in the holiday mood. The tune is ‘A Walk on the Wild Side’.

Carl and mats came to Worthing for the day.
Got the train from Peckham, but didn’t pay.
They drank fifty pints of alcohol
Then puked their guts in the paddling pool.
I said, “Hey mats! Take a puke on the sea front!
Mind the pensioners, mats! Take a puke on the sea front!"

Well done, the Peckham Poet, Lady Karen and squirrel!

At 06.58 today there were advertisements on this thread for ‘Rail Tours’ and ‘Eurostar from Waterloo’.

Why

Why would any sane person in their right mind want to go to either Worthing or Peckham? Or anywher south of the Watford gap for that matter?

Shouldn't that be "why oh why" rather than just "why"?

"Any sane person in their right mind" seems a little tautologous to me.

You southerners are only worth one "why?"

Wrong kind of leaves on the line

I had hoped to pose the question ‘why have Virgin Trains changed their name?’ earlier than this, but I was a passenger on the heavily delayed 14.21 South Central service to West WORTHING; calling at Hove, Aldrington, Portslade, Fishersgate, Southwick, Shoreham-by-Sea, Lancing, East WORTHING, WORTHING and West WORTHING.

southerners and northerners

Enough of this silly racism. You should not assume, in any case, that people living in London are southerners, still less Londoners. In fact it often seems to me that hardly any of them are. I'm from the frozen north myself.

If you're a northerner, why are you down in that smog ridden ****hole? Is it the onlyplace you can find another fag to insert his portion up your arse you fooking arse bandit?
