Dear Bob,

Veron is correct when she writes that this forum is ‘open worldwide’. The majority of our contributors are from the U.K. and therefore messages sent from elsewhere are highly valued.

Your piece entitled ‘Military School in U.S.’ is the first we have received on the subject and the situation you describe therein is beyond the experience of our members. We would love to hear more of your stories, so I conclude with our Happy Circle’s customary exhortation –

Keep posting!

Gillian

Dear Gillian; I have been wanting to thank you and others for your warm welcome and feedback on all of my posts. It has helped me to write about some of my past experiences here on SCP.I would like to give something back. I don't know if it will help anyone or not,but several years ago I had to get pro. help because these memories were causing me to lose sleep.I was lucky to find a therepist who used a process called Rational Emotive Therapy (RET) it helped me to tell about these memories and then have them broken down into 4 catagories, rational thoughts, feelings, beliefs, and irrational thoughts. The woman who helped me was an expert on this process but it doesn't take an expert to do these sessions. This is done in a group setting and you get a lot of feedback from others in the group about whether your thoughts are rational or not or just feelings. I would warn anyone who tries this that it is a very tense and emotional process and some comments whether true or not are not well recieved. So you may want to have a couple of burly guys in the group to keep the peace.
There is a lot of info on the net about RET for anyone who wants it.

Dear Bob,

I am sorry to read of the trauma you suffered following your experiences of corporal punishment and hope that writing about them here is therapeutic. As you will have seen, many of our contributors have benefited from pouring out their thoughts, hopes and fears concerning real, or in some cases imagined, flagellation, not the least of which is our new Big Dady.

For those who would like to learn about R.E.T., a good introduction thereto may be found at:

I am enjoying Gillians posts. I hope she continues,I'm getting hooked on the story.I was a toddler when this all took place,so never heard of it. Is Miss. Keeler a personal acquaintance?

You almost confused me with your spelling, but I know what you referred to.Most welcome.

Friends?

November 11 2003, 6:44 AM

Dear Bob,

It is rumoured that Mzzz Browne is a friend of Christine Keeler and that Christine herself is a contributor to this forum. Mzzzzz Browne has certainly amassed a mountain of information about those involved in the Profumo Affair and seems particularly sympathetic to Stephen Ward and antagonistic to Jack Profumo. It is unlikely that we will ever know the truth.

Carl and his mats have no friends whatsoever.

There are those who would say that the 'Keeler postings' are off topic but I can assure such complainants that the activities of Ms Keeler and Ms Randy-Mice are by no means wholly unrelated to the subject matter of this forum.

Readers may be interested/fascinated/orgasmic to learn that in those halcyon days the girls would willingly apply the cane to the bottoms of miscreant toffs for the very reasonable fee of £1 per stroke.

Assured by motoring oldies that the above 'per stroke' fee equated to about 5 gallons of petrol, I may say that in modern terms the fee equates to about £17 per stroke and thus £100 for six of the best.

Cheap at the price (for a toff)!

Perhaps not, Tony, but it was reported by reliable media sources at the time and none of the parties concerned was of a mind to deny it.

Most important of all, however, is that the story has the unmistakable ring of truth - unlike your 'schoolgirl shows her canemarks' story which has only the unmistakable ring of someone playing with his knob.

reply to Nonsense

November 11 2003, 1:59 PM

OK Lotta Nonsense,I am trying to understand your disbelief at my story. Perhaps you had such a sheltered and isolated childhood that you did not mix with members of the opposite sex as a young teenager? Even before the age of sexual awareness were you not fascinated by the thought of what was beneath a girl's knickers? (I am assuming you are male - which I think you are)Did you not have girls as friends and played 'I'll show you mine if you show me yours'? A lot of us did. As you got a bit older did girls find you so unattractive that you did not mix with them during the early teenage years; the years of sexual awakening and exploration?
If my story had been that the girl received 24 strokes on her bare bum, given by the school janitor, then I would understand people raising doubts about it's truth. It was not an amazing story. The girl had been caned and pulled her knickers to one side and showed us the marks; nothing more than that. The girl was obviously a bit of an exhibitionist and enjoyed showing us. She was not revealing any more than a briefly cut swimsuit does. My sister went to Worcester Girl's Grammar school and she has told me that she was not aware of the cane being used in her school. However, she did have friends who went to the Alice Ottley school and it was common knowledge that the cane was used there.
I have a suggestion to you. Go to the 'Friend's Reunited' site and find the Alice Ottley School. Pick a year in the early 1960's and send emails to some of the girls who have posted asking them to confirm that the cane was used at that school because you are doing some research into school discipline. You may be lucky and get a reply. You may get a new friend even.

And I suggest you either telephone or write directly to the Alice Ottley School and ask whether or not their girls were caned on the bum in 1962.

They weren't, but please feel free to check for yourself.

The Headteacher is Morag Chapman, the adddress is The Alice Ottley School, Britannia House, Upper Tything, Worcester, WR1 1HW and the telephone number is 01905 27061.

reply to Nonsense

November 11 2003, 4:41 PM

Lotta Nonsense,it's not me who needs convincing but yourself.I already know the girls were caned so there is no point in me contacting the school. You wouldn't believe me if I said that I had confirmation anyway. You don't believe any of the posts do you?
Mrs Chapman has only been at the school since 1998 so she would not have first hand knowledge of the strict discipline that was used 40 years ago. She was previously at St Mary's School in Cambridge.
I think my suggestion is better and it is you who should contact girls who were there in the 1960's and will remember that the cane was used.
It's quite clear to me and no doubt many others that you are just trying to annoy people by dismissing genuine factual posts as fiction.
I am sorry to disappoint you but you do not annoy me in the slightest.

re: £1 per stroke!

November 11 2003, 6:29 PM

Much as I dislike contradicting a highly valued contributor such as Tony, I must point out that one of the women who offered flagellation at Stephen Ward’s flat did indeed charge her clients £1 per stroke. Further details will appear in ‘The Trial of Stephen Ward’ chapter of ‘The Profumo Affair’ thread.

Re: reply to Nonsense

November 11 2003, 6:41 PM

I'm sure many readers will already have spotted the fatal flaw in Tony's response.

The question after all isn't 'Were Alice Ottley girls caned?' (they certainly were ) but rather 'Were they caned on the bum?' (they certainly were not ) - and Tony's fanciful story is thereby dealt a damaging blow.

As I've pointed out in another thread, he's foreseen the revelation that the girl couldn't possibly have been caned at school and has hinted at the possibility that she might have been caned by her father.

The whole incident is very very clearly a product of his imagination.

It never happened.

Alice Ottley School

November 11 2003, 7:34 PM

That's ok Gillian. I actually did believe Nonsense's post about the £1 per stroke. I had no reason not to believe it. I was demonstrating how easy it is to dismiss something without any evidence.
This is how I see the situation regarding the caning of the Alice Ottley schoolgirls. The following are facts:-
1)I did grow up in Worcester and attended the Worcester King's School. I am a member of the 'old boys' club, namely 'The Old Vigornians'
2)The King's School boys did socialise with the Alice Ottley girls.
3)I knew a few of the girls personally. We used to spend time together as a group of friends after school.
4)School discipline was sometimes discussed and it was common knowledge that they were caned by the school mistresses on their bottoms. The girls knew that we were caned on our bottoms by our school masters.

Lotta Nonsense has stated that the girls were not caned on their bottoms so what facts does he have to support this? I suggest none. Just replying that it never happened is nonsense in itself so his name is most suitable.

re Alice Ottley School

November 11 2003, 9:08 PM

I suppose that one of the points of a forum is lively debate, but sometimes when it becomes completely polarised, it leaves the truth lost in between. Now I know that at times I have contributed to this forum with obviously more than mere academic interest, but I have to line up with Tony on this one and therefore, regretfully, have to oppose lottanonsense. I regret it because should I meet Tony socially, my first instinct would be to wrestle him to the floor and punch him on the nose... because I attended Worcester Royal Grammar... and we hated the toffs from King's with a vehemence... and as Tony will concur, vice versa.

But one of the benefits of boarding at the Royal, was that the boarding house (Whiteladies) backed directly onto the Alice Ottley, with just a tall but scalable wall in between. Now I attended WRGS during the early sixties at a time when my hormones were flying around my enquiring loins like an electron and therefore I scaled that wall on many an occasion to meet up with equally enquiring Alice girls and have first hand evidence that at least 3 girls were caned on their bottoms. Even at that age where boyhood innocence had been corrupted by horrid teenage boy general dirtymindedness, I had found the thought of girls being corporally punished a very strong sexual image, and so when my "Alice" girlfriend no 1 and her best friend told me that they had been caned, I sought the details with an amazingly mature mix of mild interest and compassion... not wanting to be labelled a pervert at such a young age!. And it didn't take long for me to pursuade both girls to roll up a knicker leg to exhibit soft chubby cheeks striped with hard puffy parallel weals. It didn't take much longer either to pursuade them to roll up the other knicker leg too, thus revealing four soft, chubby, adorable cheeks. Nor did it take too much longer for the two adorably, naughty, kissable heroines to ask me to compare said striped bottoms to judge on whose looked the sorest.

Oh sweet memories of the heart of England when young English hearts beat in forbidden harmony!

Well I felt..I squeezed... I measured... I studied, occasionally allowing my eyes to stray to little wisps of thrilling hair edging their bloomers... and like the gentleman that was already emerging from my teenage chrysalis... I called it a draw! As it happens my affections eventually went equally between both as well... and as a result I know that no 2 was caned on another occasion too.

The head of Worcester Royal's two daughters also went to the Alice Ottley and although we weren't supposed to fraternise with them (Whiteladies was also the family home)... we did. I had a short but lovely fling with the youngest. We also raised the question of caning because she was frequently caned by her father and she confirmed that she had been caned several times on the bottom at school.

So sorry "lotta", I know that you like to toss aside every account with disdain, but the good news is that some are true. Being a horribly good looking little scroat, I also wooed several girls at the Worcester Royal Grammar for Girls, which was a little up the road at Barbourne, and one of my conquests was caned there on the bottom for the heinous fault of having her blouse unbuttoned too much. Again I used my silky pursuasive skills to take a gander at the damage, and confirmed the weals were still ridged two days later at the saturday morning "Teenage Club" at the local cinema, with a clandestine fondle in the back row.

So there you are "Lotta", Tony was right... even if he is a stuck up toff from the cathedral school!

And that was merely my own direct experiences. There must be many a Worcestershire lady with memories of those carefee days when their beautiful, chubby, soft teenage bottom cheeks were sometimes as rosy as the County's famous apples.

And to that little select band of sweet young sirens of the Severn who trusted me with their secrets and their charms... thanks... I've never forgotten you, nor ever will.

An excellent post Jon, very well written, so you obviously had an excellent education at the Grammar School. I know how you feel about the toffs from the King's School and after I had been there a few months I felt the same and wished I had gone to your school. I had 4 cousins who had gone to the King's and done ok there so my father wanted me to go as well. My primary school was St Stephen's, Ombersley Road and it was an excellent school. I think it had the highest 11+ pass rate in Worcester. A lot of my friends from there went to the Grammar School and I lost touch with them. I may post some interesting articles about discipline at St Stephen's.
I went back to Worcester a few years ago and found that St Stephen's has gone; replaced by some flats. I expect you spent many happy hours down The Cellars' coffee bar. I joined the bikers up the 15 Steps in town. That has gone as well with the redevelopment of the centre.

I assume that everyone is now convinced that the Alice Ottley girls were suitably disciplined; and so they should have been!

re Worcester

November 15 2003, 12:19 AM

OK Tony... as you wished that you had gone to the Royal rather than Kings...I won't punch you on the nose if we ever were to meet.

Thanks for your memories of Worcester; they jogged some of mine. I remember your primary school because during the first year I was in Worcester we lived at the very top of Ombersley Road, up the hill from the New Inn (whose landlord had a daughter with whom I shared many a long, inexperienced snog)

I also remember there was a big old cinema halfway along Ombersley Road where we used to lie about our ages to see our first "x" films. Actually our disguises weren't very good; they just needed the money!

And yes how our social life used to center around the coffee bars, although sometimes we used to feel very sophisticated when we got into the jazz club.

The Royal was a good school. I was already a thirdformer when I first went there having previously been to two other grammar schools (I did write a little account of my time at Chippenham in a previous thread... it brough a tear to the eye of soppy, sentimental Gillian - I bet she'd embarrass you at "Les Miserables!). In one way it came as a shock in that it was the first all boys school I had attended. Still at least I learnt a lot, free of the burdens of having to show off in front of girls... and having to look up their skirts... and working out ways to spy into their changing rooms! My parents wanted me to take my GCEs there and I boarded after my father was posted away (he was in the Armed Services), but in the end they couldn't afford it and I joined them at Shrewbury where I went to the Priory School. But I was so far ahead due to the excellence of Worcester Royal, that I coasted through my exams without having to do any work... a trait I still enjoy today.

But I will add another couple of Spanking memories of those days soon, although apart from the case of the Head's daughter, the others were domestic.

Anyway thanks Tony for the memories, Gillian...thanks for being lovely... and Lotta, thanks for making me laugh.
