I see that no one has quoted your ‘Expresso Bongo’ example on the SFR forum. Because the information was supplied by you, they probably think that it is false. I have actually watched this film and can confirm (don’t you just love these Fran phrases) that Laurence Harvey did smack Sylvia Syms. It happened in a doorway.

Please tell us why you feel unable to contribute to the SFR forum.

If you have seen the movie, then you know she was a wiz at answering questions about even the most obscure subjects.

In ‘Brief Encounter’ (1945) Joyce Carey, bending over whilst attending to a stove, receives one big smack on the bum from Stanley Holloway. This is followed by a reaction shot of Dame Celia laughing.

you should not be bothering to write about one smack rubbish - leave it to them on the sfr forum. Keep to what you do best - satire.
