Lady Pandora and Freddie would like to thank everyone who made the journey to the New Forest on Sunday for the first Oak Grove Sports Day and Teddy Bears Picnic. We think we can safely say that a great time was had by all.
Our thanks for all the food contributions – everyone was very full by the end! According to Lady Pandora, Anita makes the worst tea in the world, but is excellent at climbing trees. She also won the most ribbons. Freddie did a great job with the barbecue (apart from when he tried to burn the Forest down by forgetting to take the cardboard off!)
Miss Louise looked resplendent in her PE Mistress outfit and kept all the brats under control; especially when they realised there is no need to bring implements to a Forest! We had fun with birches, although we had to be careful due to vanillas in the neighbourhood!
The next event will be our regular London CP/Spanking Munch which will be held on Saturday, 7th July at The Purple Turtle, 61 – 65 Crowndale Road, Camden, London, NW1 from 2pm to 6pm. We are nearly coming up to our first anniversary and, despite a few people who have tried to ruin things for everybody with their bitterness and jealousy, we have gone from strength to strength and will continue to do so. London, without a shadow of a doubt, has needed a munch of this kind for a number of years and it has been nice to see so many new faces make their first steps out onto this scene within the last year.
We look forward to seeing you all again when Sunday School reconvenes on Sunday, 19th September.
A reminder that Lady Pandora and Freddie will be in the chatroom at http:/groups.yahoo.com/group/ladypandorasspankingforum this Thursday evening from 9pm. We hope you will join us.
It is a sad fact that in this scene of ours there are (as in every other walk of life) a few people who seem determined to attempt to undermine and discredit the attempts of a few people who actually put themselves out to try to help others. There is also an inordinate amount of gossip and Chinese whispers. Because of the amount of nonsense doing the rounds about Freddie and I, we though we should put the record straight. Yes, we have had some problems recently, as occur in every relationship. We have, however, worked through these problems and are once again a couple. I personally would like to make it very clear that, without Freddie and the hard work he puts in, the majority of events we run would not happen. The events are joint efforts and, whilst most of Freddie’s work to date has been more in the background, that does not detract from his contribution.
Once again we have recently been in the invidious position of having a certain male who we thought of as a friend attempt to cause us and our events problems. This person has told many lies and spread many malicious rumours in order to satisfy own selfish gains. Because his attempts to manipulate Lady Pandora into fronting his events have failed dismally, as well as trying to manipulate a relationship with another well known lady within the scene, he has started to indirectly threaten violence to certain parties who have nothing to do with the situation. Note these are the actions of a very desperate man.
This is the sort of unpleasantness that can easily spoil the scene for many people. Please take it as a warning and be on your guard. The best advice we can give is that you take everything you hear with a pinch of salt and then make your own mind up from what you see for yourselves.
"We have, however, worked through these problems and are once again a couple".
Once again a couple of what ?

The Way Forward
July 28 2004, 11:13 PM
We are both a couple of meglamaniacs who want to be The Queen of Sheba and The King of England and whats more one of us is illiterette.
Well lets be honest, if that is possible in this scene, there have been lots of others who have claimed to be the most important people on the earth. The list is endless, So why shouldnt we just stick our heads up our arses.
FOR ONE GOOD REASON I HAVE LEARNED
Giving it the large on line, making pathetic claims to be something your not, making indirect threats of violence through a third party when you wear double galzing glasses aint the way forward.
So come on then Im propose in my semi litterette scrool a discusion on the way forward
What is it?
does it matter?

This forum is for the discussion of SCHOOL CORPORAL PUNISHMENT. It is not a billboard for Lady Pandora Enterprizes. Please place your ads on your own website where they might be appreciated. And don't try to tell me that your post was not meant to be an advertisement, because anyone with any marketing skills would know that is exactly what it is. You must have found this to be a fertile hunting ground or you would have moved on long ago. But in so doing you have just about ruined this forum. Please confine your posts to on topic discussions.

It's not just one of you who is illiterate. You are both illiterate. Lady P writes "nonsense about Freddie and I". This should of course be "nonsense about Freddie and me".

July 29 2004, 11:19 PM
Actually, you are incorrect..
It is "Freddie and I". "Freddie and me" is incorrect.
"Freddie and Myself" would be more correct.
If we are picking hairs, that is.

"Chinese whispers"
July 30 2004, 7:48 AM
What please, clever English-speaking forum people, are "chinese whispers"?? How are chinese whisperings different than those of people from some English towns? Does if specifically refer to whisperings in Mandarin (as opposed to Cantonese or Hokkien which by the way I can whisper badly) or whisperings by chinese people?
I must protest the phrase as I suspect there's some sort of colonial putdown of Asians in it. But I might be wrong. I believe a thorough (off-topic, thread-vandalizing) elucidation the phrase and its origins is needed here.
Lotta Nonsense
Re: Illiteracy

'Freddie and I' or 'Freddie and me'?
When very young, most of us would say something like 'Freddie and me were going to school when . . .' only to be corrected sharply with 'Freddie and I !!!!!'
The lesson has stuck in our minds to the extent that most of us stick doggedly to that old advice and accordingly use the wrong expression on 50% of occasions.
The truth is that it depends whether 'Freddie and I/me' is the subject of the sentence or the object.
If it's the subject, use 'Freddie and I'.
If it's the object, use 'Freddie and me'.
The strange thing is that if Freddie (or whoever the other person might be) were not involved almost every one of us would know immediately which expression is correct.
The trick, therefore, is to remove Freddie from the equation.
Is it correct to say 'I went to the woods' or 'Me went to the woods'?
The former is obviously correct so, putting Freddie back into to the situation we have 'Freddie and I went to the woods'.
Now, how about 'The police arrested I' and 'The police arrested me'.?
The latter is obviously correct so, putting Freddie back into the situation, we say 'The police arrested Freddie and me'.
The expression 'Freddie and myself' is from a technical and historical perspective best avoided in all circumstances.
However, language changes over time and what's wrong in one age may be right in another. It's certainly true that many well-spoken people think it's acceptable (even desirable) to use 'Freddie and myself' as the object of a sentence and, that being so, there's little advantage in being technically and historically right if everyone else in the room thinks you're wrong.
It may therefore on occasion be better use 'Freddie and myself' than to have everyone think you're an uneducated buffoon.

July 30 2004, 7:36 PM
Whether the Lotta who wrote above is the real one or the fake, what she/he says is right. To work out whether to use "me" or "I", detach the "Freddie and". Would you say "nonsense about me" or "nonsense about I"? As soon as you look at it that way you can easily see that it is "nonsense about me". Nobody would ever say "nonsense about I".
So as "nonsense about me" is clearly the correct form, "nonsense about Freddie and me" is also correct. "Nonsense about Freddie and I" is wrong. Not just not very good, not just a matter of opinion in the light of changing language, etc. etc., nothing to do with splitting hairs, but simply and indubitably plumb WRONG.
"Sorry" is therefore wrong in describing my earlier message as incorrect. My earlier message was wholly correct. "Sorry" is him- or herself entirely incorrect in saying that it should be "nonsense about Freddie and I". "Sorry" ought to learn about grammar before rushing to criticise other people who are in fact right and making an idiot of him- or herself by stating confidently that what is wrong is in fact right, and vice versa.

Lotta Nonsense
Re: Re: Re: Illiteracy
August 2 2004, 9:51 AM
There's always a problem when a posting contains any significant amount of wit, irony, tongue in cheekiness (have I just invented that expression?) or double entendre.
The problem is that our readership covers an astonishing range of IQs, an astonishing range of educational backgrounds and an astonishing range of sharp-wittedness.
The problem is not only serious - it's twice as serious as it appears at first glance.
The obvious problem is that readers at the lower ends of the various spectrums (or spectra, as Steffosama would no doubt have it) are unlikely to comprehend the humorous outpourings from those at the upper ends.
The other problem is that, unless a contributor's position on the above spectrums is known, it's often difficult to decide whether or not a post is to be interpreted literally.
I've seen postings which, although well-written, appeared to be written by a literate idiot. After reading two or three by the same author, I decided they were in fact written by a man of intelligence who was making 'spoof' postings in the style of an idiot. After reading a few more of his postings, I returned to my original view that the man was an idiot expressing his genuine (albeit idiotic) views.
The additional problem with postings by 'Anonymous' is that there are a great many Anonymice on this forum - most of whom have simply neglected to enter a username. We therefore have a situation where one Anonymous posting might originate from a genius and the next from an imbecile.
Perhaps contributors should code their postings with 'I' for irony, 'TIC' for tongue in cheek, 'PP' for pork pie, and so on?

Georgy Porgy, the lead character in Roald Dahl's short story of the same name once said that: "Without in anyway wanting to blow my own trumpet, I think I can honestly say I am a fairly educated and well-rounded fellow"
Good story it is, you should read it if you get chance.

I hope we will be able to include the IQ of our newest member, Anita Esrader. (Geddit?) He hasn’t posted here yet, but judging by his contributions to Lady Pandora’s Yahoo Group, he is well into the one hundred and forties.

Dear Smegy,
What a delightful name. I am sure that if you ask them very nicely, Carl and Mats will be happy to confirm that this is actually my first posting on this thread. Perhaps in future you should try finding out who the authors of the posts are before you accuse me. Then again, since when has accuracy or truth ever stopped any of you; and who am I to spoil your fun. Do enjoy yourself trolling online; I am off now for yet more realtime fun.
