I agree with you.
Problem is that 90% of those in the education business are hardly qualified. in Britain for instance, family and social life tneds to be about the worst there is in Europe and is very fast approaching the US standard of "morality".
All I can say is that my exposure to CP at home and school was painful, quite painful as a matter of fact, was done with trust, love and care! I benefited from it and my kids get exactly the same I and my wife got at school and home.
But hey, we aren't working class, we are college educated with honors and are pretty well read.
The reson why people in BDSM get canings and strapings that could be described as pretty severe is becuase 1) they trust each other implicitly and 2) they have learned to make the right mon-body connections.
My kids goo to private catholic schools where they can and will be paddled across the palms as hard as I got (and the wife too). However, this is a pretty expensive school (more than GBP5,000/year for each, luch only), the teacher to student ratio is les than 20:1 most kids come from educated and well off families and these social relalities typical of poverty, the workling classes and the misery of life (of which there is plenty more in your country and amerika)simply do not exist. The only one that does exist is drugs and here the school has hored 5 detectives (all quite qualified) to follow kids who are known to take them to school. I am not talking of pot or marijuana but cocaine, heroin, etc - the hard stuff. Those kids are fully investigated and the police is involved at very early stages.
But hey I don't live in the UK or amerika. I live in Portugal and here family values are strong values ...
