Making Conversation

While out with friends the conversation turned to school punishments. It was mentioned that at my wifes school the slipper was used on boys and girls. My wife stated it was called getting 'an oscar'.She never got it but one of her female friends did (sorry, all details we could get). Her other friend (attractive thirty something called Yvette) then mentioned she never had it at school but was slippered at home by her dad quite often. She recalled being sent to her room to wait when she had misbehaved. While there she used to put on 'several pairs of knickers' before getting the dreaded call to come downstairs where a chair would be out over which she had to bend. As usual in these situations the conversation then changed but I always enjoyed visits to these friends from then on!

At work about 10 years ago a nice looking lady called Anne (thirties at time) said completely out of the blue when others were talking about school that at her school 'the nuns used to cane us'.Obviously my ears pricked up and she continued..' my friend and I got it once. She went first and started to cry.I started to laugh at this and got double...Once again the conversation then changed.

I have found a nice poem on this subject. It is for my friend Fawn who is finding life difficult at the moment.

We walk about together `neath the magical moon above,
Just making conversation when we ought to be making love.
We talk about the weather, anything that we may think of,
Just making conversation when we ought to be making love.

What opportunities we're wasting,
We've got to face the truth.
What opportunities for tasting
The best in life and youth.

We can't go on forever counting stars in the sky above,
Just making conversation when we ought to be making love.
