omg today was not so boring!!!!!!
me kirbi and jessica, all decded that since we were not doing anything in computers that we would skip and ride the bus to a class at the high school lol..... well we get there and the whole way we are all frakin out thinking of any way posible they would catch us, and they were all lke stop worrying about it , cause they said that the teacher didnt care . well we get there and lucky us they had a dag gum sub ,!!! and he happened to care! lol he called mr. klugh

but we either get 3 day suspention or 3 swats, and i dont want suspention!!!!! [.....]
we were trying to be reble!!! lol
it didnt work out very well though!!! lol but i am totally wearing like 10 layers tomarrow!!!!!!! everyone told me they hurt reallybad!!!!!! lol BO said to squeez my but cheeks togther and that helps a little! kalebsaid that he couldn't even sit down on the pot though!!!! lol i am sooooooooooooooo sooooooooooooooo soooooooooooo scared! it is not even funny!!! i dont want o go to school tomarrow!! lol well i will ttyl [.....]

today was a sucky ass day
today........ was not good!!!!

by the time i get to the end of the hall kaleb says here micah try this ! and she sniffed it and went to take a drink and ,,,, couch sanders took it away from her............
well long story short i either have 3 swats , or 10 days!!
rrrrrr could i posibly get in any more trouble!! in the last week of skool!!!! i mean seriously i am gonnan get 3 swats on the last daY!!!!! it is REDICULOUS!!![ [.....]

A day in the life of a girl in the colonies. An excellent example of how you can go from happy to getting swats in nothing flat. She gets handed something and...... BAM! Busted! 3 swats or 10 days. It's one of the things that sticks in my mind after all these years. Of course she didn't post all the facts, but there seems to be a rush to judgement. An injustice to it.

I notice she didn't say who gave the swats. Male? Or female? The reason she didn't have marks the second time is because her mother was present. Not because of the panty liners.  I don't think she would she get the normal hard as they can swing swats with a parent present.    

Real or Fake? Real.  It is still legal in OK. She does look a little older than 14 though. 15 or 16 maybe.

God, even Americans must have SOME idea about this.

Definitely deserved it for the turrible English -- guess she's been cutting that too.

Bit suspicious though because most 14-15 year olds I know here in NY and NJ have typing skills that rival the secretaries in law office pool (sic). Then again OK is far, far away from me.

Is there anyone here who can unscramble her blog? I think there might be more info there. Surely some computer geek can straighten that mess out.

Also, I think she may have moved her blog to myspace. If she did they are way behind the times in OK. But I think we already knew that.

It might be worth watching. It doesn't look like she can make it another 4 years without more CP.

how did you come upon this piece? I for one don't have much patience to read blogs unless they're kinky and bless her, most of her blog is anything but. Compared to much of the rest of her mundane postings, the "swats" entries really stick out. Not much reason to post about them unless they actually might have occurred. And she does look older - she looks as though she's going for that doll-like look Paris Hilton and fellow clowns are sportin. Not many Freshman girls look that perfect yet. Though maybe that explains the narcisistic blog thing.

This has circulated the internet for quite a while now. I doubt its authenticity as I am sure Lotta would too.

You doubt it simply because it has "been around awhile"?

What part of it sounds fake?  It seems to me about as normal as it can be. If you had ever attended a school in the states that uses CP, you would recognize it as something that could happen on any given day.

-- I found it via some search engine (probably technorati or blog search), looking for "school AND swats" or some such, as is my occasional wont. No, I don't read blogs, either, as such.

I agree that it is very likely real. I can't imagine anyone bothering to fabricate so much illiterate vapidity in an ongoing fake blog just in order to include this brief mention. It seems authentically teenage-girlish to me.

Bob, I feel the story is exagerated in certain areas. I have no qualms about CP still being used in the US although, I also fully agree with Steve M about the grammer being abysmal.

I just find it difficult to come to terms with 3 swats versus a 10 day suspension, not to mention the mother being there as a witness.

It comes across to me that the school authorities want to encourage the students to take a paddling in preference to suspension by making the suspension look like a life sentence as compared to the swats. Perhaps the teaching staff have a hidden agenda.

As for the story, it has been posted on several Yahoo gorups in the past. I read it on a site last year. If it is not the same story, it is remakably similar. "Only the names have changed" to coin a phrase.

I think for memory I was told by a friend that the story appeared on the now defunct Yahoo group; Paddled at School. I hope this satisfies Alaric who perhaps travels in different circles to others surfing the net.

Mike, it certainly can't have appeared in P.A.S. on Yahoo because this blog only dates from less than four months ago, and P.A.S. has been shut down for much longer than that. You must be muddling this up with some other case.

The business about parents being present at the punishment does seem alien to those of us brought up in the UK tradition, but some private schools in the USA do do that - some of them actually say so in their online handbooks.

Hello Alaric, I appreciate your reply and I just thought I'd reitterate about the Yahoo PAS site. I appereciate what you pointed out in regard to the Blog and date, but dates can be changed when the story is posted for many varied reasons. This forum is one example.

I appreciate your comments but I have actually done this very thing myself on different forums-not connected to this topic, and what happens is when I post my document or story, the board it is posted on accepts it on the date it is posted. I have in the past written about other topics relating to health issues and have posted them months later on another board. The original date of my work does not appear, only the date I posted on the particular site.

I feel this could be the same situation here. A story has been posted elsewhere and then re-posted on another board which has dated it on the day of accepptance.

If I find the post again, I will post it here for you with the details of where it came from.

I believe you are correct when you said it is alien to those living in the UK to have parents involved in school discipline affairs and from my experience, it is alien here in Australia as well. However, the Americans do have a different approach to things so anything is possible in American schools.

I guess we should count our lucky stars it wasn't the norm in the UK or Australia.
