Can anyone help find an extremly rare book on school flogging from London 1741?
A worldwide search on World Cat reveals there is only one known copy of this book in the whole world-in The University of California Library at San Diego La Jolla!
It is called "the Shameful Discipline of the Schools Exposed"and is by"Enemy to the infamous practice of flogging"(anon.)Printed in London for J.Roberts 1741.
There also exists a reply called "Response Defense to this book"by a"Lover of decency and order in youth. Printed R.Minors(pseud.)London 1741.
It appears some publisher was manipulating both arguments!The latter book is even rarer.
One wonders if there are any details enclosed?
