The current hysteria/witchunt of males over 40 and their libidos
continues amok.
Afraid now to gaze at an ankle in public the generation that was brought
up on Playboy,Naked ads in magazines transport and telly
and on "scoring chicks","chatting up women"continues to be stuffed
back into the toy closet.
But this campaign of harrasment righting wrongs and intimidation
and repression is having the opposite of desired consequences.
One curious area is that of the outdoor voyeur.
The Sandunes and woods and parks of eg.holiday resorts used to be replete with peace loving
camera toting stealthy individuals both aiding the Japanese long range telephoto lense industry and having a bit o'innocent fun as they crawled
around on their bellies hoping for "saucy seaside pics of cavorting nudists or big busted chicks displaying their all"
They troubled no one and no one troubled them.the local holiday photo processing shops did a roaring trade now all the camera and processing shops have shut and by
now with every repressed matron like in The Beach patrolling snooping
prying and searching the former areas have been flushed out like snakes in the grass and now there is no one at all.The peepers actually added a considerable measure of security to a place FOR AS LONG AS THEY WERE THERE
there was always the fear in the back of the mind of the beach thief,biker gang,violent aggressor,smuggler,homo pervert group,or other less savoury individuals that if they
committed a crime there might "just"be someone who might hear or see it
and photo it covertly!
Now there is no-one and no CCTV either making these places so much more insecure.Its frightening really.
But it is a wilderness created by the new Puritanicals who have banned all beach barbies,surf parties,and doing the frug.Bikinis tent camping,
and so on are probably next as we return to bathing cabins and 1880.
