| In the secondary modern school I attended, C.P. was in use
Every day. (cane mostly the plimsoll )
There was a girls school directly opposite, where the slipper
Was used to discipline the girls.
In the local grammar school C.P. was rarely used at all.
I personally think this was a one off.

As regards girls' grammar schools, the use of corporal punishment was extremely rare. See the ‘Grammar Schools for Girls’ thread, currently on Page 8 where Jetta writes that references are limited because girls “appear more embarrassed to describe incidences of SCP.” In the same thread, Dean reports that “Corporal punishment was used in girls grammar schools at a rate that was approximately 1/60th that of girls in education as a whole.”
