Religious programmes on Sky. Do yourself a favour and watch a few of them. You won't believe the statements they get away with!
Most of these preachers look like Mafia gang members in their 5000 dollar suits and 'good bad and ugly' Clint Eastwood beards.
One guy I think should be arrested for some of the outrageous things he broadcasts to those gullible yanks, is called Dr Something or other. He is always calling on the viewers to "Sow a seed". This means they are to phone in to his number and pledge a certain amount of money. It varies each time but is usually between 100 and 1000 dollars per month!
He says it is to " Spread the word of God" but it is obviously to increase his vast wealth.
Last night I could hardly believe my ears. He said that when he was first into religion (I think it must have been while he was in Sing Sing!) he was so poor he could hardly buy a pack of cigarettes. But somehow he saved 1200 dollars and "Sowed a seed"!!!!
He then said that since then he has had everthing he owns GIVEN to him! He has had rolex watches, brand new cars, AEROPLANES, and one guy sends him a new black BMW - top of the range, naturally - every year!!!
He then said that all you have to do if you want to be wealthy like him is to scrape up, borrow, beg or steal a thousand dollars and 'Sow a seed' - IN HIS THICK WALLET, OF COURSE! I know a place where he needs someone to sow a seed - where the sun don't shine!!!
What a thing to encourage all the most simple minded of yanks to do! Don't they have laws in the US to stop this sort of thing ? I shudder when I think of how the most powerful nation on the planet is run by a bunch of crooks! It almost makes you want to turn Muslim!
You talk of sowing the seed and relate it to gathering money/wealth.
Anyone who subcribes to SKY is being deluded by a rich Australian Fat Cat whos service does not produce programmes (except news to brainwash plebs)so by the said service broadcasting religion to collect more cash its only adding insult to injury. They have SKY sports but insist on showing sports on News progs!!!(sports is the cheapest material to show)
All Sky can do is re-transmit BBC and others progs. Who are quite capable of repeating these themselves for free(licence fee permitting)And dont go on about UK history and other documentry types because most the the content is Open University material.

You're right there, Monty, but when I said Sky I meant Freeview. I did subscribe to Sky for a while but found I only watched the normal programmes plus 'BBC Parliament' - never having been a sports fan.
I have only recently tried the religion channels and now I'm fascinated by the stuff they throw out at you as TRUTH!

Get yourself a freeview box or fit your own dish, its simple,an idiot can do it, I did
What makes me laugh is the horrific amount of ads one has to be subjected to with a pay subscription.
Save the money and start your own DVD collection via HMV.

If you remember the scams of pyramid selling flooding the market few years back this sounds typical of one, a con disguised as a religion movement, cults work on the same principle.
The man at the top generally enjoys its wealth, power and prestige and beneath people brainwashed, or drawn into these movement, persuaded to luring others, friends and family.only there to support the person at the top discarded if they fail to fill their role.
Religion acts as the diversion the flock or in this case gullible victims told to focus on their goals and dreams the promise Success happiness or enlightenment in this world or the next “success is up to the individual ” fail, only their own fault.”
Whatsoever a man sows that will he also reap, (but only if at the top)
Ignorance is the biggest sin,
As for the joys of sky TV there is enough rubbish on the four channels without expanding the tripe to hundreds of others ,we have rather limited reception we don’t have the pleasure or joys of free box TV they don't pick up channels here, but netherless like Bozo my TV watching died out over a year ago and can honestly say I don’t miss any of it

Youd love the religion channels, Ketta, they're better than any soap opera!
