Has anyone heard of anyone ever being swished with a fishing rod or part of a fishing rod perhaps on camps?
THis morning in relation to the ongoing near total collapse of the Worlds'Stock Markets coverage a young lady presenter kept going on about "buying in the dip"and "Bottom fishing".
(The practice of going through the dregs of the share market to try to locate potential future"bargains",
I must say I was overcome with mirth at her naivity as in the cloistered world of the ex public school city broker "bottom fishing"has another meaning that perhaps spankers will comprehend non?Though the way seh pronounced the word "Bottom"was very pretty.

What was her name and could we know the channel?

These things are very important to a true devotee of all things bottoms.

When I last fished,about 1965, a decent new rod was getting on for 30 quid, so we must be talking 300 these days.

In other words, far too expensive kit, even for City morons to indulge in for anything else other than fishing.

I know the whippy bit up the end of the rod sounds tempting when casting, but it is still pretty tough stuff & not manufactured for CP-far too damaging.

If you feel the need to start a campaign to insert fishing rods into the where-the-sun-doesn't-shine of anyone connected to the City or Stock Exchange, I'll willingly, as a NON-NR shareholder, join you. These people are about as much use to our lives as chavs, except chavs are good for taking the mickey out of.

Hmmmmm Do not know I would go THAT far but I know a few Radio Presenters could well do with having their phallic mikes at least brandished in front of them with suitable
suggested verbs and adjectives....
