Now I would like to digress upon a phenomonen I have observed concerning Smacking Parents.
We muse here on those parents in the lower socio economic groups who frequent pound shops and bargain bin superettes their miserable rebellious brood in tow.
Not the respectable middle class teacher parent for example who delivers an infrequent carefully considered bedroom punishment smacking in accordance with Societys'laws and rules.
No I muse upon the sort of whiny parents who drag their constantly "mis behaving"children round lower class public venues causing aghastness and miserable negativity to all within hearing and visionrange of their rather ugly persons.
These parents have basically failed in their relationship with their kids.From an early age as young as 8 or so.
Its embarrasing.Its taboo.Its horrible to behold but its a fact.The kids "play up",Refuse to move when "told",sulkily make the parents public persona a living hell.the more the parents threaten scold and shout the more the kids dig their heels in.They are aware that heads are turning,that people are going tut tut and criticising the parents.One might question why such inaedequates ever had children in the first place so inept are they at looking afer them.There comes a point where the parents seem to lose all pereception of self they enter into a hypnotic ambient world of big stick and little person a sort of drama oblivious to other people around them and what they might be thinking.They do not relaise that yelling at the top of their adult voices,red in the face threatening to belt the living daylights out of a 4'elf is er ... in this day and age...kind of ...embarrassing?Theyve already got half a dozen abolitionists quietly considering an urgent speed dial to Social Services,the Community Domestic Violence Police Unit.Theyve already got people sneakily photo graphing their bullying on digi cams and mobile phones from behind stacks in readiness for the court case.The Superette Manager and assistants are anxiously frowning in the direction of the disturbance,plain clothes store personnel are moving into the "zone".The parent is 100%unaware of this and 100% convinced of their inalienable right to behave like this.That it could possibly upset anyone is beyond their imagination.And if it does then theres the usual remedy,threats,lying,accusations,manipulation,counter false allegations.These people also attack teachers at the local school.They attack other parents.They head butt Social Service workers.Their game is if I can be ferocious enough towards "meddlers"I can fend off do gooders and so do what I like to the kids.Scary.VERY scary wouldnt you say?Eventually it takes a SWAT team to break down the door after numerous complaints to discover a tragic scene of neglect and abuse most likely.They are shiczophrenically very protective of matters concerning their kids.If little Johnny kicks a football and breaks a neighbours window its the neighbours fault and theyd better not complain or they get head butted.
Lay a finger on him and you get attacked.Only they are allowed to violently abuse.
True freaks.
Things are improving.the cams and CCTV record any incidents.People are more aware.
But weve a long way to go with this troublesome and odious minority.
