Is officially an unfair cesspool. We've known for a while that the hard working and law-abiding are being victimised while charva scum are allowed to rome free to rape and pillage, the rich paying f**k all tax etc, etc.

Now they're reducing refuse collections before fining people for having too much in the bin.

F**K off Britain!

The "green" agenda is being used an excuse to royally bum**** the nation. Every time they want to raise revenue it's put down as a green initiative.

Like ****e, council tax has rocketed, more people pay it yet they reduce services like bin collection and fine you when your bin is too full.

Must be time to take to the streets soon.

Bozo, I've the greatest respect for your excellent contributions to this forum, but I have to ask you, how long has the BBC been a newspaper?

If you inspect the link provided by Alfredo you'll see it is to a page on the BBC website - a vast and unnecessary collection of information readily available elsewhere, maintained with money leeched from TV licence fees that should have gone to fund some half decent TV programs, and currently responsible for threatening the very existence of the Web by encouraging people who wouldn't know what bandwidth was if it jumped up and bit their ass to download poor TV programs they couldn't be bothered to record for themselves on conventional recording equipment!

Sorry folks - rant over - I probably don't need to tell you I'm no lover of the BBC!

Bozo's theory that If we don't hear/see/read about examples of how this once great nation is rapidly going to hell in a handcart then it isn't really happening is one I'm encountering frequently, and from some otherwise intelligent people. The words ostrich, head, bury and sand come to mind!

I'm with Alfredo. Things are bad and they are getting worse!

BTW, anyone have any idea what this has to do with School Corporal Punishment?

My apologies larry1951, I didn't mean to cause you to have to intervene. I appreciate your forbearance in making only the minimum alteration necessary to avoid possible offence.

Thank you for your splendid contributions, Another_Lurker. There are a few, a very few, words that our moderatrix-in-chief, Big Ray’s Old Mum, does not allow to be used on this Forum. You will soon get used it…probably.

Unfortunately, the BBC is more like a horrible tabloid rag in its' reporting as time goes by.

If I can wash out & separate refuse with ELEVEN cats, and some picky buggers amongst those, those in the Cumbrian fells can use a little green conciousness, too.

There are a few times when being an islander is a shame, and this might just be one of those.

Thank you for your wise words of guidance, Subscriptions Manager. I am sorry that I have yet again caused larry1951 to labour over his keyboard.

I am sure that you will realise that under no circumstances whatsoever would I deliberately invoke the wrath of Big Ray's Old Mum, either in her capacity as Moderatrix-in-Chief of this estimable forum, or indeed in any other capacity!

I am however a little surprised that Alfredo's closing salutation on his initial posting should have escaped the eagle eye of larry1951, and, indeed the ire of Big Ray's Old Mum. Clearly it isn't the asterisks that do the trick, as I now know to my cost! Does the secret lie in the use of upper case letters?

The secret surely lies in posting political comment in political forums. I can never understand why people, having read the title of the thread, then post something totally irrelevant. Perhaps it's something as simple as self-importance.

Having been a member of this forum for a few years now, I have come to the conclusion that Larry1951 is some sort of automated bot that scans all of the Network54 forums. It may be triggered by certain words or phrases and deletes them. I could be wrong. Only Big John knows for sure. I think Big Ray's Old Mum is just what the bot is called by Big John even though we have had some contributions by her in the past.

Sorry to disagree, Bob T, but the edits by larry1951 (or A N Other or whoever) to my two postings above were intelligent, subtle and effective. The second of them showed quite definite evidence of a sense of humour. I've yet to come across an automated bot which demonstrates subtlety, intelligence and a sense of humour!

As for Big Ray's Old Mum, she may possibly not exist as a physical entity, but she certainly exists as a conceptual entity. Further, she is a conceptual entity endowed with considerable powers and sanctions with respect to contributions to this estimable forum. It follows therefore that as a would be contributor to this forum I must acknowledge the omnipotence of Big Ray's Old Mum, and for clarification and the avoidance of doubt this I am most happy to do.

My apologies to our esteemed and all-knowing Research Assistant 2 for hi-jacking his (or her) signature phrase in the previous paragraph. It seemed a form of words so totally suited to the context!

Well it just goes to show that after all this time I still have no idea who anybody is on this forum. Just for clarification and the avoidance of doubt it was Sara Jane who first used that phrase here on this forum. Of course researcher2 could be Sara Jane for all I know.

This is the only forum I contribute to that I don't know who anybody is. All other forums I have either met some of the members or talked on the phone. Some people I have IM'ed or emailed back and forth. On this forum nobody seems to know anybody and some of the members seem to have multiple profiles or screen names.

I used to think it was a British thing, but I have joined forums that are all about adult consensual spanking and most of the members are happy to exchange personal info or arrange meetings. Many of them from the UK or NZ. If a member is traveling to one of those places, people want to meet. Even if it is only for tea and conversation. I realise this is not a dating forum, but the secrecy and not naming schools makes me wonder if anybody is who they claim to be.

Bob T is right about the multiples. Would the admin people please confirm that Sill Lee Asso and Subscriptions Manager are one and the same?

Hi Bob T. My apologies if you have inferred that I was suggesting that your knowledge of this forum was in any way less than mine. My comments related solely to my own experience of the activities of larry1951, and from that experience I concluded that my edits were done by a person rather than by software. You have been around on this forum a great deal longer than I have, and have made many significant contributions, as I know from reading back through previous topics.

You are of course correct about the "For clarification and the avoidance of doubt" phrase, originated by Sarajane, back in what I, as a newcomer, would view as the golden age of this forum, the years 2002 and 2003. I attributed it to Reasearch Assistant 2 as that forum luminary has been the most frequent user of it during my time here.

As regards secrecy and not naming schools, it was, I think, the sadly missed (though no doubt she would have shredded my two main contributions to the forum ) Lotta Nonsense who said that an unnamed school was a fictitious school. I can't argue with that sentiment, I can only plead that in many cases, my own included, identifying the school would also identify persons other than the forum contributor and the consent of those persons as regards such identification cannot reasonably be assumed.

Multiple identities - yes, a certain amount of it certainly goes on! I think the principal agent is Subscriptions Manager, who uses a multiplicity of identities to encompass his many tasks in carrying out the necessary management of the forum. If he also choses to appear as a few more frivolous characters to inject a little humour into the proceedings who can blame him!

Thank you for your observation, Laughing Boy. For clarification and the avoidance of doubt, Sill Lee Asso and Subscriptions Manager are two different people, as the pictures show.
